Hotel Chic

I've always wanted that "Hotel Chic" look, so this weekend I had enough of the old sheets. I needed something new and modern.

So I hoped in the car with Russ and we headed down to Linens n Things and I found them!!! My "Hotel Chic" look is becoming a reality. Granted this look doesn't come cheap!! But I've always wanted it and now I have it.

We now just have to paint that bedroom.

Hmm what colour would good with this sheet set?

Europe Anyone?!

Well Russ and myself are planning on a trip to Europe this coming September. Now some of you are asking where are you guys going? Well to be honest we just don't know. Granted the plan is to visit London and Paris, but this will all depend on a few things.

First I'm hoping to be able to get some family passes from my lovely sister Gladys (insert grovel remark here). We have to book at least 2 weeks before we are schedule to leave. That said, they only offer 8 seats per flight. So we might end up somewhere else in the world if we can't make it to Europe.

Secondly it depends on Russ' mother. Without getting into too much detail, as Russ might not like what I say in a public forum, she depends on Russ even though she wishes to be independent.

So my vacation just might be small trips around here, or who knows maybe somewhere that neither Russ nor I had expect to go to.

I LOVE Wireless Internet

Here I am sitting at a coffee house, drinking an ice tea, enjoying the sun and typing away on a computer and surfing the web. WOW!

Now you might be asking yourself...Gus why are you surfing the net on a nice day? Well our office's firewall died today, and because of this we can't access anything at work. So instead of being useless at work, I'm being more useful at home, where I can log in to my work email and make sure that all things are running smoothly.

AHHH technology!!!

Feeling HOT HOT HOT!

So Vancouver is having a heatwave, if you can call 30C a heatwave.

Ok I come from Toronto and when we have a heatwave there, we are looking at 36C plus. I think the reason most of us here in Vancouver feel we are we are suffering is that we are just not use to this type of heat.

Russ LOVES this heat. Me, I'm happy with 25C, but I manage. Now heatwaves here don't usually last long and I guess this is the main reason most homes and condos just don't have air conditioning. We just don't need it.

All I have to say is to just enjoy it! In 6 months time we are going to be wishing for this type of weather!!!

Those Damn Photos

So today I was written about on a co-workers blog today (Rebecca). She has started a trend in this office to just BLOG. Say something to the world I guess. I'm honored to have entered this world.

Now I've been also trying to post pictures and get some of my pictures up. Laura has suggested Flikr which I have been using. Though since I have to log into it with my Yahoo account I thought for sure it would just transfer all my photos I have posted up there already, but alas it didn't. So I have to start over from scratch and begin to upload some of my vacation photos for the whole world to see.

Hopefully I'll have everything up and running soon and then all my friends and family can begin to see what Gus is up to.

The Beginning

Ok so this is my first attempt at blogging. We'll see how things go and I'll see if I can remember to update and say a few things once in awhile.
